About our hosts
Min. Marcus Burnett
Min. Marcus Burnett began his membership at Shiloh in 1997, and has served for approximately 27 years, Licensed to preach in 1999 and Ordained an Associate Minister in 2004. He is passionate about preaching, discipleship, evangelism, and biblical teaching. His theological training includes leadership schools, discipleship training, attending numerous biblical conferences as well as various business / management studies. He currently leads/guides our Ministerial Team, co-leads the Men’s Ministry, one of the Facilitators of our weekly Sunday School Teachers Meeting, acts as Co-Superintendent of our Adult Sunday School Department, and assists the Pastor in other various capacities. Past positions include Assistant to the Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, Bible Study Leader.
He is most inspired by the love God has bestowed on him, how he has been filled with His Spirit, and the person / work of His Son that He sent to die for our sins, granting us eternal life. His personal devotion includes reading & studying the Bible and prayer. His favorite scripture is Ephesians 2:10: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Min. Burnett enjoys spending time with his wife, Robbin, and their 3 sons and 6 grandsons.
Min. John Cobb
Sound Doctrine and Church History is John’s areas of emphasis. As a teacher and preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, John has participated as Workshop Leader in the Greater Chicago Sunday School Association, one of the writers for the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. (Baptist Layman Series), Keynote Speaker and author of two books, ‘Lord When’ and ‘From Death to Life’. He is currently working on a third book, ‘The Resurrection, What does the Bible say?’ Minister Cobb serves as the General Superintendent of Sunday School and Chairman of the Board of Christian Education, a teacher in the Sunday School Department, an Instructor of the Leadership School as well as a member of the Shiloh’s ministerial staff. He has completed several Correspondence Courses through Ligonier School of Theology, Canada. Minister Cobb is married to Fay Cobb; they have two children, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is a U.S. Navy Veteran of 24 years. His favorite Bible Verse is Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
Min. Shawn Holmes
Min. Shawn Holmes is the Assistant to the Pastor and currently serves as the Assistant General Superintendent of the Sunday School Department and Chairman of Men’s Ministry. He has been active at Shiloh for over 10 years. Professionally, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business and is studying Reformed Theology and Expository Preaching. His major focuses include the development of preachers and teachers, the Board of Christian Education, and assisting with IT and the Media Ministry.
Minister Holmes favorite scripture is the 27th Psalm. He credits his inspiration to the Holy Spirit, the Holy Scripture, and all those who love God and love to serve Him and others.
In his free time, he enjoys cooking, eating, and fellowshipping with his wife, Angela, and son Kyle.
